Downtown Dartmouth 16th Annual Spring Clean-up

Our annual Spring Clean-up was held on Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010 and as always, it was a great success! This has been our biggest turnout ever, with over 100 volunteers who made up 27 teams. In just one hour, the teams collected 87 bags of garbage along with 13 bags of recyclables and other large items. Following the clean-up there was a barbeque at the King St. Fire Department, where firemen barbequed over 200 hamburgers and hotdogs to feed our hungry volunteers, and prizes were handed out for 'Best Dressed', 'Most Unique Item', and 'Most Garbage Collected'. A special thank-you goes out to all of the volunteers who helped make our downtown cleaner, the King St. Fire Department, and the businesses and individuals who made both the barbeque and prize give-aways possible with their generous donations.
