Members Programs

The membership of the Downtown Dartmouth Business Commission (DDBC) recognizes that the downtown needs an independent voice, with strong leadership representative of the business community, to guide it through a process of economic renewal and community development. 

Without this leadership role we would not be able to bring the voice of the business community to all government levels and the private sector to advocate for development.

We are an integrated community organization that identifies and pursues opportunities and partnerships which cultivate economic growth and social well being. The Commission promotes a vibrant business and residential environment built on its strength.

To accomplish it goals the Commission provides a wide range of services that enhance our growth.  These includes projects related to community events, business promotions, services related to parking, safety, maintenance, administrative support and recycling.  In addition we have an active marketing program as well as a productive capital improvement partnership with the Halifax Regional Municipality.  To ensure that our organization accepts its responsibility for addressing the social concerns of our business district we are also involved in programs that support our social agencies through cooperative programming initiatives.

The DDBC is an active and functional organization created by its membership to ensure that our business community actively participates in the economic growth of this region.  We look forward to the input we receive from our members and the resultant growth in our programming as a result of that input.
